If I’d been asked to pick any film for a remake, Arthur wouldn’t have been one of my top 100.
But I adore Helen Mirren (she was the only good thing in that awful Caligula) because, not only is she certifiably sexy (when she wants to be) but because she’s never been afraid to do anything. This looks like must see stuff.
I wasn’t at all excited when I heard about it, but having seen the way they are (apparently) refocusing the story, I’m now very much looking forward to it. A grownup love story! Not sex/romcom — just another way that people can love each other.
Whether it’s a remake or not doesn’t seem to really matter except for the title, maybe the similarities will be in some plot and name only,
I haven’t seen Luis Gutzman since the 2002 Count of Monte Cristo and looks like a fun part for him.
I’m no fan of Russel Brand but for Helen Mirren I’ll stand him. Looks like it might be okay.
