Walken goes Gaga

This. Is. Christopher. Walken. Whose work I enjoy very much. For me he’ll always be Johnny Smith, Gabriel, Nick, the guy who dances to Fatboy Slim

He recently appeared on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on UK television, where as part of the show he reads the lyrics to Lady Gaga’s song “Poker Face.”

Wait for the “Oh”‘s.

If this does not make you laugh, then there is nothing I can do for you today; go home and try the world again tomorrow.

  1. Help me please. I am trying to remember the movie that first showed me that he was indeed a dancer. It was in a diner and he ends up dancing on the counter. Anyone?

    1. Hmm. I don’t know the answer, but I hope someone else will come along and solve the mystery. Or maybe I’ll just have to start working my way through all the Walken movies…

  2. Hmmm here too. I was thinking that he was in Buckaroo Banzai, but looking at IMDb, I guess not. I wonder what movie I was thinking of.

  3. I was relieved that I did find this hilarious. (not as far gone as I had thought I might be)

I’m doubt this is the one you were referring too, rhbee, but it’s a pretty entertaining clip nonetheless.

But here’s where the guy shows he really can move. Versatile. How cool would it be to have the ability/talent to tap dance like that?

  4. It is the one from Pennies From Heaven and I was just as gaga as Bernadette. Thanks, Jennifer. And you too, Kelley, you know how I love dance.

  5. Oh yeah Bernadette Peters I couldn’t remember her name so thanks. She was in a wonderful little movie with Rachel Ward called Bobby’s Girl. They were lovers and owned this pub with a quirky wonderful thing going on with the employees. Wards charactor’s sister dies making her the aunt and sole person to take of her nephew Bobby., There is so much in this movie to enjoy and be involved with I highly reccomend it iif you can find it. It’s one of those really good movies that may not have made it to DVD, I have it on VHS and that may be the only way to get it but anyone interested might try tracking it down that way. I will add that it’s worth the effort. I could put some shout to see if ther are any copies out there I know netflix doesn’t have it I checked there first.

  6. So I went and dug up this movie and watched it. I hadn’t seen it in years and was surprised at how profound it still is. I was wrong about the title it’s Bobbies Girl not Bobby’s Girl. Oh and it’s set in Ireland on the coast where they own a pub, Bobbie and Bailey that is.

Here’s a bit about it from somewhere, it’s VHS:
    ***
Bobbie (Rachel Ward) is struggling to deal with a recent diagnosis of breast cancer and who finds out that she’s the guardian of her orphaned nephew. Bailey (Bernadette Peters) is her partner who does some major maturing as she copes with a new “son” and Bobbie’s cancer. Jonathan Silverman is fantastic as Bailey’s brother. Thomas Sangster is devastating as Alan, Bobbie’s nephew.

The story is wonderful – neither promoting nor defending sexual preferences. It doesn’t need to. When faced with tough situations we are all reduced to the same emotions and that’s the focus of the film.
    ***

And just for fun Kelley have you seen Denzel Washington’s DeJuVu or however you spell that? It’s a great movie, not apocolyptic but rather a disaster with all of the ingrdients that you listed and it has Washington of course well worth seeing.

  7. Oh yeah, deja vous. By the by, here’s a trick I use when I’m commenting and I get stuck for the spelling or the meaning or just a character’s name. I quick copy what I’ve written in the comment and then google whatever it is I am puzzled about. And yeah, the critics panned the movie as possiby too formulaic and inconsistent in its time sense but I thought it was tight and well done and well worth the thoughtfulness it provoked.

I also came across the Bobby movie you brought up when i was noodling around the old cable on a rainy day. The folks in Maine should have been broadcasting it every damn day before last Tuesday.

  8. That’s cool thanks rhbee I hope you really enjoy the mi=ovies especially Bobbies Girl. I showed it to a neighbor earlie tody and he really liked it. I’m falling asleep and this typing thing is not the easiest thing I’ve ever done when I;m not falling aseep, so this is so long for now before I really so something very wrong. chuckle

by the way deja vous ia in my all time
