My Northwest people

Yes, these are ads. But they are also historical documents of those who are now My People: the cheerfully self-determined, sometimes cluelessly polite and occasionally wacky residents of the Pacific Northwest.

My friends, welcome to my world.

My very best to you and your people, whoever they may be.

  1. I apologize in advance for this question . . . it’s tech related. Every time I try to watch a linked You Tube video (such as these) I get an error message and cannot watch them. The only internet connection I have is (here) at work . . . is this likely a firewall issue? I can watch directly from You Tube, but not from a link.

And, I just returned my Blackberry because it was simply too hard to navigate!! Yikes, I’m starting to feel old.

  2. It could be a firewall issue, or it could be that your browser at work does not have the latest Flash version installed, which would prevent the embedded videos from playing for you. You should ask your tech person at work about it — I am not sure how to diagnose something like this long distance….

Sigh. Wish I could help more. I am glad at least that you are able to watch at YouTube when you wish, although I’m sorry for the extra work on your part.

We’re not old. We’ve just been young for a really, really long time now (grin).

  3. Ha! Those are great. Your people, huh? Well, I guess I can see it – you’re all “a little different.” Some a little more than others…

  4. I’ve been living here for 15 years and have no plans to flee, so they are my people now (grin). Much better for me than Atlanta or Chicago or the other places I’ve lived, although in an alternate life I can see myself living quite happily as a teacher at my old boarding school…

  5. I love the Pemco commercials, and have you been to their website? It’s a hoot.

We’ve only lived here for five or six years, but we know these people, and we’re becoming them! Okay, maybe not the chainsaw one, but certainly some of the others!

Thank you. I needed the grin.
