I came across the AdVerbatims blog recently and found it almost unbearably funny. If you have ever worked in any creative capacity anywhere — writer, copywriter, graphic designer, artist, marketer, screenwriter — well, my friend, this Bud’s for you.
I wish this blog was still going strong — I’m sure there’s more than enough material in the world for it. I could give them some of my notes from Hollywood execs, for starters…
Enjoy this last Sunday of 2008.
Life is strange. I stumbled on the Spanish version of AdVerbatims today, following The 2008 BOBs winners for Best Spanish Blog. Palabras Textuales is going strong, and is even out in print.
This reminds me (painfully at times) of retail photofinishing. The weirdest and perhaps saddest one was a man who had a picture of a cow. You could see a hat over the cow’s shoulder and a pair of human legs below.
“This is the only picture I have of my grandfather. I’d like you to move the cow so I can see what he looked like.”
I kid you not.
This site is definitely funny, but too much like real life for me. This is the kind of stuff we hear on practically every job. ugh.
