For some reason I was thinking about that word – enjoy – the other day.
ORIGIN late Middle English : from Old French enjoier ‘give joy to’ or enjoïr ‘enjoy,’ both based on Latin gaudere ‘rejoice.’

What a great word. I think I’ll keep it in mind more this year.
